47 They know how to audition. They may not know how to act, but they know how to get auditions. And they book crazy. But true. My clients book a lot. I teach them things that other coaches just teach like the 22nd rule that I made up. Did you know that casting directors turn off auditions? If you don't get them hooked in the first 20 seconds, we have a waiting list started. So email info at screen acting school right now. And Donna Marie, we'll add you to the list. We'll be opening enrollment soon, and we don't want you to miss it now for your mini movie. Magic moment on podcast, double Huda Huggins, great book, respect for acting covers the nine questions.

38 I love this book and I highly recommend it to you. First of all, she asked the initial question, who am I? You need to search the characters information, both from the breakdown. If you're doing an audition or from the script, if you're reading the script, then you have to ask, where am I? Your environment, the location, the conditions of your environment. Then what surrounds me? What people, what objects are there? Do you have a cup of coffee?

11 What time is it? No, what time it is? Even the year is important. If you're doing a period piece, there are going to be different ways of behaving. So what time is, it is very important. What are the given circumstances? This is everything. These are the events and facts of the scene. The conditions in which the scene is occurring and what's happening before the scene, that helps the character. And then what of course the character is going to do after the scene. So all of these are very important. Then you want to think about what is my relationship? What is my relationship to the characters and to all of the other things that we've just talked about, then you want to ask, what do I want? What do I want is very important. Now listen to this.

02 Cause this is important. What I want includes the overall objective and includes what you want in the scene and is most effective when it is tied to another character. So what do I want, what do I want? Next question. What is in my way, what is the obstacle? The obstacle reveals your character, how you respond to something, reveals who you are and what you're made of this is true in life. And it's also true in acting that last question is, what do I do to get what I want? What are my tactics? What do I do? For example, if I want to get something from you and I think you're cute, I might flirt with you to get it. Those sorts of things.

48 Now I'm going to add a last one to her fabulous list. And that is how do I feel when I get what I want, because we want you to react to the other person when you do get what you want. Congratulations. Listening to podcast double is a small, smart, risky step toward your dream.

Thanks for spending your time with me today. I'll see you on screen.
